I first learned about Ho’oponopono in a past life regression session. The Sage who performed my regression showed me a life in which I had mastered this healing technique. After the session, having learned this and many other things about myself that were new to me, I was inspired to start relearning them again.
I started researching Ho’oponopono and came across a lot of great information. It is an ancient Hawaiian Healing technique which at the surface appeared to be a simple prayer:
I am sorry
Please forgive me
I love you
Thank you
The Hawaiian word Ho’oponopono directly translates to "To make right".
I was intrigued by this and wanted to understand it on a deeper level. What are the mechanics behind how this works?
I then came across the work of Dr. Ihaleakala Hew Len who had used Ho’oponopono to heal over 300 mentally ill criminal patients in the 1980’s, without them even being there for the healing session. These criminals were housed in shackles in Hawaiian State Hospital, which was falling apart. The whole place was decrepit physically and energetically, and these criminals were dangerous and hard to administer medicine to. Dr Hew Len did his work alone from his own office. He had requested files and a picture of these patients and he would read about them to learn what they had done and what they were suffering from.
He looked for the connection to their suffering from within himself, and how he caused it. This is where it gets mysterious and incredibly thought provoking. How did he cause the issues of these people he had never even met? This take us into the theory that we are all connected and we are all One, which I very much believe and have found truth in throughout all my healing studies and spiritual experiences. Even scientists like David Bohm, a theoretical physicist have written books about unified consciousness. This is a concept that isn’t limited to the spiritual community. So, Dr. Hew Len connected himself into the One, and through that connection, could connect into any person and take on the responsibility for their suffering, but also for their healing. What an incredibly beautiful concept! It truly brings tears to my eyes and is the ultimate victory for us to achieve this level of humility and responsibility.
His work was very successful. It took 3 years of continually working on over 300 patients, and they eventually started recovering and finding peace one by one. Medications were reduced, shackles started being removed, and eventually most of these patients were even released back into normal life with only a few needing to be relocated, and the decrepit hospital was eventually shut down.
This ancient healing technique can be used by anyone to heal themselves and others. We are all part of the One infinite Creator, we are all Light, and Life, and are connected.
Here is how it works:
Ho’oponopono ~ "To make right"
I am sorry
Please forgive me
I love you
Thank you
When saying “I am sorry”, look into the unified field for the suffering and accept responsibility for it. There should be no guilt felt, just purely recognizing that an improper action has arisen from the whole which can be remedied.
When saying “Please forgive me”, seek forgiveness from God for the improper action since you have taken responsibility for it. You must also give yourself the forgiveness you seek.
When saying “I love you”, it goes out to all, to God, yourself, and to the person or situation being healed, as well as to the Unified Whole.
When saying “Thank you” you are sealing the entire healing with a very powerful energy. It is very important for you to envision that the healing has already taken place. Through confident faith in God to complete the work and detachment on your part from the outcome, the outcome can be successful. Attaching oneself to the desired outcome is an assumption of control, which is an illusion and creates an energetic block. We must step out of the way, surrender the rest confidently and reverently back to God to work the divine miracle into fruition.
